Care Instructions
Taking care of a resin charcuterie board or cutting board involves a few simple steps to ensure its longevity and maintain its appearance. Here are some care instructions:
Cleaning
- Hand Wash Only: Clean the board with warm, soapy water using a soft sponge or cloth. Avoid using abrasive pads or brushes which can scratch the resin surface.
- Avoid Soaking: Do not immerse the board in water for extended periods. Quick, thorough rinsing is best.
- Dry Thoroughly: After washing, dry the board immediately with a soft towel to prevent water spots and potential damage.
Maintenance
- Oil Regularly: If the board has wooden elements, apply food-grade mineral oil or our personal choice- an eco-friendly plant-based board oil to the wood parts regularly to keep them from drying out and cracking.
- Avoid Harsh Chemicals: Do not use bleach, harsh detergents, or strong chemical cleaners on the board as they can damage both the resin and wood.
Usage
- Cutting Surface: Do not use the resin charcuterie board as a cutting surface. Knives can scratch and damage the resin.
- Temperature Caution: Avoid placing hot pots or pans directly on the resin board. Extreme temperatures can cause the resin to warp or crack.
Storage
- Store Properly: Store the board in a dry place, preferably upright to avoid moisture accumulation and warping.
- Avoid Direct Sunlight: Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can cause the resin colors to fade and the material to degrade over time.
Additional Tips
- Resin Scratches: If the resin gets scratched, you can lightly sand the area with fine-grit sandpaper and then polish it with a resin-specific polish to restore the shine.
- Stain Removal: For tough stains, make a paste of baking soda and water, apply it to the stained area, and gently rub with a soft cloth.
Following these care instructions will help maintain the beauty and functionality of your resin charcuterie board for years to come.
