From Suburban Hustle to Mountain Magic

Welcome to Blue Ridge Artworks, where creativity meets serenity, and every piece tells a story. We're Roque and Lisa, the dynamic duo behind this artistic adventure, and we're thrilled to share our journey with you.

In 2019, we traded the hustle and bustle of New York for the tranquil beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Western North Carolina, just a stone's throw away from Asheville. It was a leap of faith, a move that brought us closer to nature and closer to ourselves. With our children growing into adulthood, we found ourselves with more time to breathe, to explore, and to indulge in our creative passions.

For years, our artistic inclinations lay dormant, buried beneath the demands of careers and raising a family. But as the pace of life slowed, our creative spirits soared. We dabbled in glass blowing, wood crafting, painting, and resin art, experimenting with different mediums and techniques. Our home became a gallery of our creations – from drinking glasses to charcuterie boards, each piece a testament to our newfound freedom and inspiration.

Our journey began with a humble River Table, crafted with little more than a vision and a shared dream. From that moment on, there was no turning back. We embraced the challenges and the happy accidents, learning and growing with each new endeavor. Blue Ridge Artworks was born out of a love for creation, a passion that continues to drive us forward.

But our story doesn't end with art. We're also proud parents to our furry companion, Loki, a Norwegian Elkhound who fills our days with joy and laughter. And as avid gardeners, we've cultivated our own little slice of paradise, growing herbs and vegetables year-round to nourish our bodies and souls.

Life in Western North Carolina has been a revelation – a breath of fresh air and a source of endless inspiration. From the temperate rainforest climate to the vibrant community of artists and artisans, every aspect of our surroundings fuels our creativity and fuels our souls.
